Fractional Leadership

As a fractional People Leader, I build and lead the People function in a part-time, interim capacity for a fraction of what it would cost to hire a full-time People Leader.

My focus is generally twofold: handling the day-to-day People issues that inevitably pop up while simultaneously building the foundation of your People strategies and processes. With fractional engagements, I function as both a builder and an operator.

I find that most clients prefer that I be employee-facing so that employees can come directly to me with any concerns. Some clients also have me directly manage the more junior members of their People team.

Advisory Services

I work with a limited number of Series A to C startups as a People Advisor to support the company's growth.

As a People Advisor, I advise my clients on how to build the foundation of their People function, make recommendations on HR tech platforms, facilitate introductions to top talent within my network, and provide guidance on avoiding common but costly HR missteps.

Unlike fractional leadership, where I tend to function as a hands-on builder and operator, Advisory Services are more about helping Founders think strategically about building the People function.

Pricing Structure: Monthly Retainer

Project-Based Consulting

Project-based consulting makes sense when clients have a clearly defined need to complete a specific deliverable.

The specifics of each project vary widely, but past projects have included developing performance management frameworks, compensation philosophies, and leadership development programs, to name a few.

After assessing your current People processes and future needs, I’ll partner with you to scope your project’s requirements, define deliverables, and align on the expected timeline.

Pricing Structure: $225/hour, billed monthly

  • Individual approaches to HR or People Operations exist along a spectrum.

    On one end of the spectrum is the old-school, personnel management approach to HR. On the other end is a version of HR that is much more concerned with the Employee Experience.

    I approach my work through the Employee Experience lens, acknowledging that when we treat our people well and create an environment of psychological safety, good things happen to the business. When you have a team willing to go above and beyond for you and your customers, the sky is the limit!

  • Most of my clients have been Series A-C startups with anywhere from 20-200 employees, but I occasionally work with smaller or larger organizations if and when their People needs align with my strengths.
